Kimrad Transport Rolls Out SmartDrive Across Newly Acquired Fleet

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SmartDrive Systems, a leader in driving performance solutions that reduce collisions and improve fuel efficiency, today announced that Kimrad Transport, LP, a family-based regional cargo transporter of liquid asphalt, petroleum crude oil, and other liquid petrochemicals to various industries, doubled its implementation of SmartDrive's video-based safety program by adding the program to its recently acquired fleet equipment operating as Bulk Crude Transport, LLC. Kimrad chose to roll out the SmartDrive technology fleet-wide following notable improvements in collision frequency rate and safety score.

A SmartDrive customer since 2012, Kimrad Transport originally selected the solution based on a recommendation from another customer, and since then, has experienced marked improvement in fleet safety, increasing its safety score by 42 percent. Leveraging the custom scoring and coaching capabilities to further tune the program to their specific needs, Kimrad also lowered key risk areas, including seatbelt compliance and texting while driving, by 41 percent and 46 percent, respectively.
