Kristen Costello Hired as Director of Business Development for Barton Malow Company
BD Leader Rejoins the Company to Showcase Her Expertise in Virginia
RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The American construction services firm, Barton Malow Company, recently brought on Kristen Costello to head their Business Development efforts throughout Virginia. Costello brings experience leading marketing strategy for several companies within the construction industry, and aims to showcase her strengths with a company she believes is truly unique.
"There's no place quite like it," says Costello about Barton Malow. "It's simply hard to duplicate." After five years as a Marketing Manager at Barton Malow, Costello spent two years sharpening her skills further at other contracting firms. However, with newfound experiences in marketing leadership, Costello believes it's the perfect time to rejoin the company. Moreover, the decision was made easier by her belief that Barton Malow is workplace unlike any other: "[Barton Malow] is truly interested in how you are; it feels like a lifestyle, not just work." She also credits the strong connections she built during her first tour with the company, including Marketing Coordinator Caitlin Friebertshauser.
Having built business relationships in Virginia for well over a decade, Costello brings a distinct boldness with her to the Barton Malow team. "There's no substitution for getting out there," she says about her ability to find and work with others to create more growth for the company. Her goal is to make Barton Malow the first contracting firm that potential clients think of when they want to build. However, it goes further than business prospects for Costello. She also wants to showcase the difference the company makes in the communities it serves: "I want Barton Malow to be thought of as good neighbors."
Costello attended Georgia State University, the University of Phoenix and received her Mini Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond. She has previously worked for Creative Office Environments, Eagle Construction of Virginia and Skanska. Costello has been involved in a number of industry organizations over the past 14 years, holding leadership positions, chairing events and building networks with: the Greater Richmond Association For Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE), Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Urban Land Institute (ULI) – Virginia, and the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).
