CINCINNATI, Feb. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) announced today that Cindy Holmes has been appointed Director of Investor Relations and Carin Fike has been appointed Director and Assistant Treasurer. Both of these changes will be effective March 6, 2011. Ms. Fike will report to Kroger's Treasurer, Scott Henderson; Ms. Holmes will report to Kroger's Chief Financial Officer, J. Michael Schlotman.
Ms. Holmes, 42, began her career with Kroger in 1990 in the Information Systems and Services department, and for the past 10 years has served as the company's Assistant Treasurer. In that capacity she was responsible for managing banking relationships, managing treasury operations including cash forecasting, analyzing and selecting borrowing and investment options, negotiating and managing a $2 billion credit facility, and participating in the issuance of long-term debt and derivatives. She also worked in capital management and is a member of Kroger's pension investment committee.
She earned a BS degree in Business with a major in Finance from Miami University and an MBA degree from Northern Kentucky University. She is a certified treasury professional (CTP).
Ms. Fike, 42, began her career with Kroger in 1999, and has served as the company's Director of Investor Relations since 2003. She was recently named the best investor relations officer in the grocery and retail drug industry by both the buy side and sell side in the 2010 Institutional Investor magazine rankings. She began her professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a graduate of Duke University and earned an MBA in Finance from Indiana University.
