The Las Vegas podium marked Shanahan's third of the season in his E82 BMW, following a third-place finish at the Streets of Long Beach during the championship opener and a second-place finish at Round Four in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.

Following a sixth-place qualifying run, Shanahan advanced to the main competition, where he defeated Jhonnattan Castro in Top 32, Ryan Tuerck in Top 16, and Chris Forsberg in the Great 8. Shanahan put up a strong performance in the Final 4, battling his younger brother, Conor, in a titanic matchup that was ultimately decided when Jack dropped two tires off the course in Zone 4. Despite the narrow loss, Shanahan remains fourth in the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship standings, with one round to go in Long Beach, Calif. on October 23 – 24.
