"This is a great way to observe premium winemaking where it truly begins – in the vineyards. Our winemaking goal at Kunde Family Estate is to have each wine express an authentic core of aromas and flavors, reflecting the land on which they grow. Visitors will enjoy the variety of terrain these hikes offer while learning what sustainable winegrowing is all about," says Winemaker Zach Long.
Commitment to Sustainability
"As stewards of the land for five generations, we believe sustainable farming results in higher quality wines, ensuring the viability of our estate for generations to come," said Jeff Kunde, 4th Generation Winegrower.
The family's sustainability efforts have resulted in multiple awards, among them the State of California Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award. Kunde was also one of the first wineries in California to be "Certified Sustainable" by the Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
