Kwikset® Smart Security Tour Localizes Home Security Education

LAKE FOREST, Calif., March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kwikset® has kicked off its cross-country Smart Security Tour, joining the authorities on residential door hardware directly with the public at more than 300 events across the United States  .The Kwikset rig and mobile showroom create a fun, interactive environment where visitors can learn about smart and simple home security solutions.

From February through November 2011, the mobile marketing tour will be stopping at various home improvement retailers and select sporting events to demonstrate Kwikset's security, quality and innovation in door locks including SmartKey® Re-Key Technology, SmartCode™ Electronic Locks, and Home Connect™ Technology.  At each stop, visitors will have the opportunity to learn how to improve their home security, simply and easily.

Multiple stops on the tour will offer additional opportunities for unique engagement and activities, including scheduled visits to NASCAR races, Professional Bull Riders events and Moto GP.  The No. 9 Kwikset Ford Fusion show car will be traveling with the Tour so visitors will be able to get a close look at the race car, take advantage of a photo opportunity and learn when and where to see the car in action.

To further demonstrate its commitment to home security, Kwikset has recently partnered with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), home of McGruff the Crime Dog®, to provide crime prevention tips and information at several events throughout the tour.  NCPC will also assist in organizing its membership, community organizations, and local authorities to speak on the importance of security in their respective cities.
