ATLANTA, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hooters of America, LLC has agreed to dismiss claims it brought against its former Executive Vice President of Operations, Joseph Hummel, and his new employer, La Cima Restaurants, LLC. After more than six months of litigation, Hooters conceded that it had no evidence to support its claim that Hummel and La Cima used confidential Hooters information to help La Cima.
Under the terms of the settlement agreement, which are not confidential, neither La Cima nor Hummel paid any compensation to Hooters to walk away.
"La Cima has never had any intention of using any Hooters information," said Coby G. Brooks, President and CEO of La Cima. "We don't want it and don't need it. La Cima's partners have over 117 years of combined Hooters restaurant experience. We don't need their documents; we wrote them."
La Cima Restaurants, LLC was formed in 2011 as the brainchild of Coby Brooks, former CEO of Hooters and the son of Hooters founder Robert H. Brooks. It will develop 35 Twin Peaks restaurants throughout the southeast over the next ten years, and will open its first Twin Peaks in the Buckhead area of Atlanta in July.
