PITTSBURGH, Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers (USW) will host a rally at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, to get out the vote (GOTV) in support of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Katie McGinty and other union-endorsed candidates in the lobby of the union's international headquarters.
In addition to USW International President Leo W. Gerard and McGinty, the union-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate, speakers will include Gov. Tom Wolf, Sen. Bob Casey, Rep. Mike Doyle, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten, Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) National President D. Michael Langford, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) General President Kenneth Rigmaiden and League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski.
Special guests will include Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale and Allegheny County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council President Jack Shea.
Jim Rooney and former Pittsburgh football legends Franco Harris, Mel Blount, Edmund Nelson and Craig Bingham are also scheduled to attend as part of the "Steel Blitz" bus tour, a series of events in Southwestern Pennsylvania aimed to drive voter turnout for Clinton/Kaine and McGinty.
