Lamon Promoted to President of Horton Emergency Vehicles

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave Lamon has been promoted president of Horton Emergency Vehicles. Horton, based in Grove City, Ohio, has been the ambulance manufacturing leader in quality, engineering and safety since 1968. Horton is a member of Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV), the largest manufacturer of ambulances in North America.

Lamon, long a nationally recognized expert in ambulance safety, was instrumental in developing many Horton innovations, including the Horton Occupant Protection System (HOPS). HOPS protects EMTs with a combination of two types of air bags, multi-density cushions and three point harnesses in a body developed over the past 30 years with direct impact and Hygee sled testing. He joined the Horton sales and marketing department in 1971 and was most recently the vice president of sales and marketing.

He is a past president of the Ambulance Manufacturer's Division of the National Truck, Body and Equipment Association and a member of the technical committee for the ambulance specification of the National Fire Protection Association.
