HOUSTON, Aug. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lanier Law Firm has announced that the proceeds from the firm's upcoming Trial Advocacy Crash Course continuing legal education program will benefit Guatemala SANA Children's Project, a nonprofit that provides high-quality health care and education to children in rural areas of Guatemala.
"Our Lanier Crash Course was created to help educate other plaintiffs' lawyers, not as something to profit from financially," said Mark Lanier, founder of the Lanier Law Firm. "I found a way to combine my passions for practicing law and helping others by benefitting a cause that has been dear to me since 2008. As lawyers, we always want to do the right thing on behalf of our clients, but it is also valuable to apply that goodwill to the community."
Guatemala SANA Children's Project was founded by Dr. Rafael Espada, a renowned cardiac surgeon and former vice president of Guatemala. Sana means "healthy" in Spanish. Mr. Lanier's wife Becky Lanier is also heavily involved with the non-profit in Houston. Learn more about Guatemala SANA Children's Project at http://sanachildren.org/en/.
The two-day Crash Course CLE is set for Sept. 7-8 in The Woodlands, Texas, providing plaintiffs' attorneys an opportunity to learn trial strategies directly from Mr. Lanier, who secured verdicts totaling more than $1.5 billion last year.
