DENVER, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) has tallied the votes of their members who attended the association's annual Congress at the newly expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center, March 18 – 24, 2011. The largest annual gathering of perioperative registered nurses in the world creates a competitive environment for surgical product exhibitors vying for the attention and recognition of these influential customers.
This year's AORN Congress was attended by 5,266 perioperative registered nurses and 5,353 exhibitors. During the multi-day event, the OR nurses attend education sessions to earn credit hours, as they meet and talk to the manufacturers of current and new products for surgery and operating rooms.
AORN, representing the interests of more than 160,000 perioperative nurses, provides nursing education, standards, and practice resources, including the peer-reviewed monthly publication AORN Journal, to enable optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. AORN's 40,000 registered nurse members facilitate the management, teaching, and practice of perioperative nursing, are enrolled in nursing education or engaged in perioperative research.
