Las Vegas Cosmetic Surgeon Hosts Successful Bra Drive & Donates $1,090 to Benefit The Shade Tree

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Thanks to the support of the community and his patients, Dr. Samir Pancholi of Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas was able to collect 109 bras for local charity, The Shade Tree. For every donated bra, Dr. Pancholi "matched" the donation with $10, and he was honored to present the 109 bras and $1,090 to The Shade Tree early in December.

Established in 1989, The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of its kind in Nevada, offering 24-hour shelter to women and children along with a number of helpful programs and services to help women become self-reliant. With services designed to help victims of domestic violence, street violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, The Shade Tree works to help residents regain their sense of identity while escaping homelessness or violence.

The 38,000 square foot Shade Tree facility hosts 364 permanent beds, libraries, children's playrooms, kitchens, laundry, and restrooms. Last year alone, The Shade Tree helped over 5,200 families in need—and the amazing work they are able to accomplish is thanks in large part to the support of the Las Vegas community.

Dr. Pancholi and his team ran a fundraiser accepting new or gently-used bras from the Vegas community. At the end of the fundraiser, 109 bras were donated—with Dr. Pancholi donating $10 per bra for a total of $1,090 raised for The Shade Tree. Dr. Pancholi partnered with local dry cleaning service Mint Locker, who provided their time and services free of charge to professionally clean all bras, and Sin City Cupcakes donated some sweet treats for all to enjoy.

Representatives from The Shade Tree stopped by Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas in early December to pick up the donated bras and check.
