Last.fm Founders Launch Lumi Effortless Web Discovery - Just Keep On Browsing

SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Lumi (www.lumi.do), the new venture from Last.fm founders Felix Miller and Martin Stiksel, opens its doors to the public. Lumi is approaching web discovery in a new way: People can use their browsing history to effortlessly find news, information, entertainment and products that interest them. They receive a real-time feed with individual suggestions of relevant and popular web pages that automatically adapt to what they browse.

Lumi requires little effort: simply spend a few moments signing up and installing the Chrome, Firefox or Safari extension. Straightaway, Lumi delivers individual suggestions based on interests derived from your browsing history. There is no need to select categories, tick boxes, or subscribe to feeds. To keep Lumi working, just keep on browsing.

"Users are bombarded with requests to subscribe, like and follow all the time," said Felix Miller, co-founder of Lumi. "Lumi does all the hard work for you, and delivers relevant content without you ever having to update what interests you."

Lumi was born out the idea to create a secure and anonymized platform where users can put their browsing data to work. With today's launch, Lumi takes the first step by effortlessly providing users with the latest most relevant web pages.

"We thought that it is a real shame that we have been using the web for so many years, yet every day we start with a clean slate and the web has no idea what we're interested in," commented Martin Stiksel, co-founder of Lumi. "With Lumi, you put the knowledge stored in your browsing data to work to help you discover new content. We believe in the power this data has to make our lives easier and not as a commercial marketing asset."

Lumi is available for free, today at: http://www.lumi.do.
