Laurence Girard, Founder And CEO Of Fruit Street Health, Offers Former Prevently Investors Free Shares In New Digital Wellness Platform
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Laurence Girard, Founder and CEO of Fruit Street Health (Fruit Street), along with Fruit Street's Advisory Board, today announced that it has been and is continuing to offer free shares in its company to previous investors in Prevently, Inc., a failed telehealth company previously founded by Girard. Girard was ousted as Prevently's Chief Executive Officer earlier in 2014.
In an effort to help Prevently investors, Girard has offered free shares in his latest venture, Fruit Street Health, a digital wellness and telemedicine platform which helps patients live a healthier lifestyle while enabling healthcare providers to connect with patients using telemedicine and wearable mobile technologies. The free shares, which have been offered for the last nine months, are available to each Prevently investor who made their investment prior to its closing and Girard's subsequent termination.

This news comes on the heels of last month's announcement that Fruit Street had raised a $500,000 round of seed investment, led by a series of individual investors, the majority of whom are prominent physicians. Additionally, Fruit Street recently announced the appointment of leading physicians to its Advisory Board and the opening of its headquarters in the San Francisco East Bay. Fruit Street has also partnered with one of the leading telemedicine software companies in the world.
