Lea Dunn Begins Work as Addison City Manager on March 1, 2014

ADDISON, Texas, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Addison has its first new city manager in 32 years.  Veteran deputy city manager Lea Dunn will replace retiring city manager Ron Whitehead.  Dunn begins work in her new post on March 1, 2014.

"Lea brings a depth of experience in city government, a proven track record of success here in Addison and in other cities she has served, an in-depth knowledge of our community and a proven commitment to the 'Addison Way' of providing outstanding, cost-effective government services," said Whitehead.

Dunn joined Addison as Deputy City Manager in 1996 and has overseen every city department in her 18 years with the city.  Her latest assignments included overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources, Infrastructure and Operations, General Services, Development Services, and IT departments as well as the Capital Projects.   Prior to coming to Addison in 1996, she served in various management capacities in the City of Bellaire, including five years as city manager.

Dunn was named Administrator of the Year by the Institute of Public Management at Brigham Young University, and described as "an individual who has demonstrated throughout her career a high degree of commitment to ethical standards and excellence in public service and administration." She was also the first woman president of the Texas City Management Association.
