Leaders of Climate Savers Computing to Speak at Clean-Tech Investor Summit

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Climate Savers Computing Initiative (CSCI), the 700-member international consortium focused on reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of information and communications technologies (ICT), today announced that its president, Lorie Wigle, and board member, Rob Bernard, will participate in a panel discussion at the 8th annual Clean-Tech Summit in Palm Springs, CA on February 1.

Lorie Wigle is General Manager of Eco-Technology at Intel Corporation where she drives Intel's market position across energy efficient performance and use of technology to address environmental challenges. Rob Bernard is Chief Environmental Strategist at Microsoft where he is responsible for defining and implementing the company's global strategy for environmental efforts.  

Wigle and Bernard represent their companies on the CSCI Board of Directors where they collaborate with other board members from Cisco, Emerson Network Power, Google, Juniper Networks, Samsung and World Wildlife Fund to drive the CSCI mission of advancing the use of power management and the development and deployment of more energy efficient computing and networking technologies.

During their panel discussion Wigle and Bernard will review what their companies are doing to increase energy efficiency and highlight how CSCI's work has helped the global ICT industry save well over $2 billion in annual energy costs by decreasing annual CO2 emissions from computing equipment by 41 – 45 million metric tons.
