The Kyes Lecture Series is an esteemed annual tradition established to honor the legacy of former Kirk trustee Roger M. Kyes. The series convenes eminent leaders, scholars, and theologians to stimulate substantive dialogue on the interplay of faith, leadership, and service. Each year, it affords the community an unparalleled opportunity to engage with thought leaders whose insights are both academically rigorous and immediately relevant to contemporary challenges.
Tod Bolsinger brings extensive experience and scholarly perspective to this year's lecture. He is co-owner and principal of AE Sloan Leadership, Inc., a consulting and executive coaching firm that develops leaders across ecclesiastical, nonprofit, and marketplace contexts. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director of the De Pree Center Church Leadership Institute, Senior Fellow at the De Pree Center for Leadership, and Associate Professor of Leadership Formation at Fuller Theological Seminary. A pastor for 27 years, Bolsinger is the author of five influential books, including Canoeing the Mountains: Christian Leadership in Uncharted Territory and Tempered Resilience: How Leaders are Formed in the Crucible of Change, both lauded for their contributions to contemporary leadership discourse.
"The Kyes Lecture Weekend functions as a critical nexus between our longstanding traditions and the complex challenges of modern leadership, honoring the enduring vision of Roger M. Kyes," said Rev. Dr. Edwin Estevez, Senior Pastor of Kirk in the Hills. "By featuring Tod Bolsinger, a preeminent voice in both leadership theory and theological reflection, we endeavor to equip participants with the discernment and strategies necessary to lead with courage, integrity, and authenticity. We invite all members of the community to join us October 10–12 as we examine how to navigate change while remaining faithful to our values and mission."
The weekend's program emphasizes leading with faith, resilience, and discernment in a rapidly evolving world. Participants will be challenged to consider the roles of trust, adaptability, and moral courage in both personal and professional contexts.
