Leading Brazilian Agricultural Cooperative Coopercitrus Expands Use of Unisys Technology to Support Growth Objectives

Technology expansion for largest rural cooperative in state of São Paulo supports a five-year growth plan designed to take advantage of Brazilian agribusiness sector's good performance

SÃO PAULO, March 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that leading Brazilian agricultural cooperative Coopercitrus has extended its contract with the company for Unisys ClearPath Forward™ technology and IT services.

A Unisys client since 1987, Coopercitrus today ranks as the largest cooperative in the state of São Paulo in sales of agriculture raw materials, machinery and implements, with revenues exceeding BRL 2.2billion (US$634.6 million) in 2015.

Under the terms of the extension, Unisys will provide Coopercitrus with new ClearPath Forward systems and software, disaster recovery solutions and services to virtualize the coop's computing environment.

Coopercitrus views the expanded Unisys solution as central to its objectives for growth in the Brazilian agribusiness sector, which grew 2.7 percent year over year in the first six months of 2016.

In addition to new ClearPath Forward systems, Unisys will provide Coopercitrus with an application development environment comprising Unisys ClearPath MCP Developer Studio, AB Suite®, and Data Exchange; a BCA (Business Continuity Accelerator) disaster recovery solution; and ClearPath ePortal 7.0 – the latest edition of the powerful solution for modernization and development of Web and mobile applications.

The entire set of new products is complemented by a range of services, including virtualization; installation and upgrading of new products; deployment of disaster recovery services and storage and replication solutions; installation and knowledge transfer to new development environments; and services for application modernization using ClearPath ePortal.
