SÃO PAULO, October 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
This week, leading global business-to-business events company GDS International officially opened its first South American office in São Paulo, Brazil.
"Brazil is a really exciting market and, although we've been running events all over Latin America from our Miami office since early 2012, São Paulo was the obvious choice for our newest office," said Oliver Smart, GDS International's CEO. "We're excited to work face-to-face with the region's most established brands and top-level executives."
With 19 years' experience, six offices around the globe, and over 75 summits for senior executives spanning 16 industries and five continents in 2011 alone - as well as a host of leading conferences - GDS is perfectly positioned to become the blueprint for Latin America's booming senior executive events industry.
Already heavily active in the Latin American events market producing industry, leading summits such as CIO Latin America, NG Oil & Gas Lat Am and NG Telecoms LA, the Brazil office will develop events specifically for the Brazilian market.
GDS Brazil will deliver six events in its first year including an extension of its flagship CIO Summit - Next Generation CIO Brazil, to be held in Bahia, 6 - 8 May 2013.
Ian Cassley, regional vice president in charge of the São Paulo office, said: "We work very hard to know our audience because we know that an engaged, open-minded and solution-focused delegation delivers value for our sponsor companies. The genuine opportunities for business we create, and the unfiltered feedback we get from sponsors and delegates, is how we measure our success."
Starting off with a team of 24, GDS plans to quickly grow its new office and establish it as the Latin American headquarters.
GDS International brings together 65 top decision-makers to discuss their business and technology strategy over two-and-a-half structured days in five-star privacy. Inspired by brilliant keynote speakers and peer-created content, facilitated by industry-renowned analysts, and realized by 14 x 40-minute solution provider meetings.
GDS will shortly begin looking into charities to support in the São Paulo area.
In honor of the São Paulo office opening, over 350 staff, in all six GDS International offices across the globe, will celebrate Brazil on Friday with music, dancing and costumes.
