NEW YORK, Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Knowledge Vault announced today that Tata Steel is using Knowledge Vault for administration and control of its Office 365 implementation in Europe. The international steel producer required greater insight into the security and administration aspects of Office 365 than was available with the native tools. The Knowledge Vault Office 365 connector provides them with full visibility in their Office 365 environment via a simple web interface.

After the company migrated 25,000 users to Office 365 they needed to effectively manage the new cloud-based environment and integrate the new services into their existing end-user support organization, which required fine-grained controls and the ability to delegate administrative actions. There was also a need to keep close tabs on service utilization from a security perspective.

Manager of Collaboration Solutions Harry Vlap was tasked with creating various reports about Office 365 usage within Tata Steel. Harry Vlap: "We really liked Knowledge Vault's complete set of default reporting options and the ability it gave us to quickly create custom reports to suit additional needs," said Vlap.

In addition to Exchange Online, Tata Steel has begun to implement other components of Office 365 such as SharePoint Online, Skype for Business and OneDrive for Business. These products are also covered by the Knowledge Vault Office 365 connector. "With Knowledge Vault, we have a single comprehensive solution that can be used by all departments," concluded Vlap.

Tata Steel is Europe's second largest steel producer with factories in the Netherlands, UK and other locations throughout Europe. The company delivers products to demanding markets like construction, automotive, packaging, transportation, energy and aerospace.

Christian Ehrenthal, CEO and co-founder, Knowledge Vault, explained: "Tata Steel's selection of Knowledge Vault further validates our industry awards and recognition as a leading provider of cloud-based auditing, alerting, reporting and management solutions for enterprise customers. We are especially proud to have been chosen, with the help of our local partner in the Netherlands, DTX, for another large implementation, which underlines the scalability and effectiveness of our solution."
