OurPact Expands Patented Offering to Families Around the World Seeking Essential Device Management
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sustaining momentum into the new year, OurPact, the leading parental control app in iOS, has announced the release of Android device management.
OurPact is a free application enabling parents to remotely manage their children's access to Internet and third-party apps. The patented platform operates on Wi-Fi and all cellular connection speeds, allowing parents to individually manage the screen time habits of their children remotely, and instantly.
Until now, ParentsWare, the company behind OurPact, operated exclusively within the Apple ecosystem. This meant that parents on iOS devices – iPhones, iPads, or iPod touches – were able to manage kids only on iOS devices. As of today, parents on iOS will now be able to manage children on Android devices as well. According to ParentsWare's Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Edward Hunter, focusing on iOS before expanding to Android was a strategic move, and the first major adaptation to the product of many to come.
"We saw a gap in the iOS parental control space – no solutions were able to conform the available technology to the family environment. We decided to approach the solution from a different angle, and the result is a reliable, user-friendly and scalable product," he says. "Following our success on iOS, extending to Android is incredibly exciting. Not only has it proven our team's dedication, it also represents the first of many major product developments that will help us reach countless new families around the world."
In the past two months, OurPact's user base has doubled to over 340,000 users. Today's advance into Android, which holds 85% of the global mobile market, extends their reach to millions.
An OurPact app allowing management from Android parent devices is currently in development, and is slated for release in the near future. In the meantime, Android management with OurPact is free to use and available in over 100 countries. Child devices on Android 4.1 or newer can find the application in the Google Play Store.
