Learn How to Save Money and Energy on Lighting from DTE Energy Experts at Home Depot Oct. 23
DETROIT, Oct. 14, /PRNewswire/ -- Energy efficiency experts from DTE Energy will be at The Home Depot stores in metro Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 23, to offer homeowners advice on how to save money by making changes to the way they light their homes.
During this "CFL Saturday" event, shoppers also will be able to take advantage of special pricing DTE Energy is offering on energy-efficient light bulbs. Select Energy Star ® qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) are available for less than 99 cents per bulb at The Home Depot locations throughout the metro Detroit area.
With lighting accounting for about 20 percent of the average homeowner's electric bill, replacing incandescent bulbs with CFLs can help lower energy expenses. CFLs use 75 percent less energy and last up to 10 times longer and provide just as much light as standard incandescent bulbs. That can translate into savings of as much as $44 over the lifetime of just one CFL.
DTE Energy experts will be on hand for from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to answer questions about CFLs and other ways to make your home more energy efficient at these The Home Depot locations:
- 18700 Meyers Road, Detroit
- 39825 Ford Road, Canton
- 13500 Middlebelt Road, Livonia
- 20300 Kelly Road, Harper Woods
- 225 Avon Road, Rochester Hills
- 8760 26 Mile Road, Shelby Township
- 32525 Northwestern Highway, Farmington Hills
- 545 S. Telegraph, Pontiac
