The Summit kicks off March 1 at 8:30 a.m. with opening remarks and a keynote address, which are followed by general sessions that run through 5 p.m. Lunch is included, and a reception rounds out the day. Gain a strong perspective on clean fuels and energy-saving vehicles from Sam Spofforth, executive director of Clean Fuels Ohio, the largest of the U.S. Department of Energy's nearly 100 Clean Cities coalitions.
Because it is likely that a truck ordered today will still be on the road 12 to 20 years from now, the Green Truck Summit also addresses technologies that can have a dramatic impact on the work truck industry in the coming decades. The session, Technology Solutions Almost Within Reach, provides insights into driverless vehicles, advanced batteries, in-motion charging and fuel cells. Presenters include Reuben Sarkar, deputy assistant secretary for transportation, U.S. Department of Energy; Laura Dawson, director of the Canada Institute, Wilson Center; and Joe Thompson, president of ROUSH CleanTech.
