LEE MAJORS AND NICHELLE NICHOLS STAR IN AMBITIOUS NEW SCI-FI SERIES BRINGING ICONIC PERFORMERS INTO A NEW ERA OF TELEVISION

Based on the acclaimed science-fiction novel Manhattan Transfer by John E. Stith, the production is believed to be the first of its kind: a pilot-length scripted television episode created entirely through Generative AI.

The series bridges generations of science-fiction audiences, connecting the legacy of classic television with the possibilities of a rapidly evolving technological era.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30, 2026  /PRNewswire/ -- Lee Majors, celebrated for his iconic roles in The Six Million Dollar Man and The Fall Guy, and Nichelle Nichols, beloved worldwide as Lieutenant Uhura from Star Trek, star in Manhattan Transfer, a groundbreaking science-fiction television series based on the acclaimed novel by John E. Stith.

Created, produced, co-written and directed by Sky Conway, Manhattan Transfer is being produced by Skyrocket Studios and the Manhattan Transfer Film Fund.

The cast also includes Herbert Jefferson Jr., best known for his role as Lieutenant Boomer on the original Battlestar Galactica, Jason Faunt of The Power Rangers and up-and-coming young star Chalet Brannan.

The story begins when the island of Manhattan is inexplicably severed from Earth, put beneath an enormous dome and placed aboard a colossal alien mothership containing thousands of other domed alien cities taken from planets throughout the universe.

Television icon Lee Majors leads the series.

Through Generative AI and authorized digital recreation, Majors is presented as a younger visual version of himself, evoking the era in which audiences first knew him as the star of The Six Million Dollar Man.

The late Nichelle Nichols, whose groundbreaking portrayal of Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek made her an enduring figure in science-fiction television, stars as Nova Taylor, a world-renowned astrophysicist.

PRODUCTION UNDERWAY

The Manhattan Transfer pilot is currently in production, with more than one-third of the production now completed.

Upon completion, the producers plan to present the pilot to television networks, streaming platforms and distributors for consideration as an ongoing series.
