Leerink Partners Launches Event-Driven Sales and Trading Team

Industry veterans Josh Ezrin, Tom McCaffrey, and Brian Furbush join the Firm's Institutional Equities platform

BOSTON, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Leerink Partners, a leading investment bank specializing in healthcare, today announced the launch of an Event-Driven Sales and Trading team within its Institutional Equities platform. The team will provide institutional investors with event-driven sales, trading, and analytical capabilities across the broader equity market, while leveraging Leerink Partners' deep healthcare expertise to deliver differentiated insight in the sector.

The team will be led by Josh Ezrin, who joins the Firm as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Event-Driven Sales and Trading. He will be joined by Tom McCaffrey, an event-driven trader and principal market maker, and Brian Furbush, who joins as a Director and Event-Driven Desk Analyst. The three professionals bring complementary expertise serving institutional investors across merger arbitrage, special situations, and other event-driven strategies.

Mr. Ezrin brings more than 30 years of experience building and leading teams that provide event-driven content, market intelligence, and idea generation to institutional investors.

Mr. Furbush brings more than 15 years of experience in equity sales, trading, and analysis across the event-driven universe. He will provide clients with timely analysis, desk commentary, and actionable insights across event-driven situations.

The new team will work closely with Leerink Partners' equity research, sales and trading, capital markets, and investment banking professionals, drawing on expertise from across the Firm to deliver timely analysis, actionable ideas and seamless execution for institutional clients.
