The proposal covers approximately 1,300 claims filed under New York's Child Victims Act. It remains subject to final documentation and the agreement of participating survivors.

Under the reported framework, eligible claimants would have a $250,000 quick-pay option. A survivor who does not choose that fixed amount may instead submit a claim for individual evaluation. The proposed settlement also preserves an avenue for plaintiffs to seek additional recoveries from the Archdiocese's insurers. Any proceeds from those claims would be directed to a trust for the survivors. The Archdiocese would maintain and update its list of credibly accused clergy and provide related records to Iona University, according to the plaintiffs' liaison committee.
