LeSportsac Announces 40 Years of Fashion & Function Through a Series of Unexpected Partnerships and Surprises in 2014

NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the iconic American lifestyle bag retailer LeSportsac, announces the celebration of their 40^th Anniversary. Established in 1974 in New York City, LeSportsac was founded on the principles of being lightweight, functional and fashionable.

LeSportsac celebrates their 40 years with a new store design, e-commerce site, through products and various collaborations.  Across four seasons of retrospective yet modern collections LeSportsac employs the concept of "looking back, and moving forward."

Inspired by the original designs from 1974, the Classic Anniversary Collection features details such as the original zipper pull, three colored logo, and natural colored contrasting trims. Vintage styles such as the Pullman and Camera bag are updated and reintroduced.

This spring LeSportsac will launch two collaborations. Beginning with New York based Curtis Kulig and his brand Love Me, LeSportsac continues it's long tradition of working with artists. The Artist Edition series consists of three prints that feature Kulig's eponymous Love Me. Each print comes in various styles resulting in a cool and urban collection with a touch of sweetness.

In their second spring collaboration LeSportsac teams up with Benefit Cosmetics to express its bold and girly side. This whimsical and witty collection features retro inspired prints and Benefits' infamous "words of wisdom." From cosmetic bags to weekenders the collection offers a full range of products for a beautiful lifestyle.

The second half of the year is filled with many surprises, some dip into past and some look forward. While maintaining a sense of its heritage LeSportsac plans to move forward in innovative and unexpected ways.
