All-in-one home security system's ingenious design takes consumer-first approach

The Red Dot Award: Product Design appraises the best products of the year from around the globe.
The new LG Smart Security, expected in market this summer, will combine design and technology to create an all-in-one home monitoring solution that is both discreet and beautiful in form, and will provide superior functionality for professional security monitoring, HD video and seamless home automation. Consumers will also enjoy the simple setup of LG Smart Security, easy access via a mobile app and the benefits of video streaming, home automation hubs and security systems.
Drawing inspiration from the warmth and beauty of housewares, the device's design is elegant and compact to compliment a variety of home décor styles and blend seamlessly into the household environment. Weighing less than a pound and measuring just five inches in height, LG Smart Security's stylish shape and sleek black color give the device a premium look, and its strong polished-polycarbonate finish withstands scratches. Its discreet design blends subtly into any room.
Building on ADT and LG's advancements in the IoT space, it will also serve as a smart home hub, enabling users to connect seamlessly to peripheral devices and control them through one central mobile app. LG Smart Security will be available in the U.S. market this summer.
