Liaison Leads Cloud Industry in Establishing New Position of Chief Trust Officer
Hmong Vang to Oversee Both Security and Compliance of the ALLOY™ Platform
ATLANTA, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Liaison Technologies, an industry-recognized leader in cloud-based integration and data management offerings, today announced the appointment of information security, compliance and risk management veteran Hmong Vang to the newly established role of Chief Trust Officer. With this role, Liaison sets a precedent for the cloud industry by combining executive oversight for both information security and compliance to ensure the highest levels of trust among users of Liaison's cloud-based ALLOY Platform.
Integration and data management functions are increasingly being handled on cloud platforms. Multi-tenant, shared environments provide the power and flexibility that businesses require in today's competitive markets. Data security, regulatory compliance and privacy are fundamental attributes of such platforms. Liaison's ALLOY, the industry's first Data Platform as a Service (dPaaS), is the only solution to put data at the center of integration efforts by unifying end-to-end integration and data management workflows on a single cloud platform. By relying on Liaison to keep ALLOY up to date with current standards, organizations reduce internal scope and cost of their compliance requirements.
"We consider security and compliance to be foundational parameters for our cloud solutions," said Bob Renner, President and CEO of Liaison. "Establishing a Chief Trust Officer position is a testament of our commitment to our customers on these issues. We are excited to have Hmong on board. He clearly understands the needs and challenges of data security and compliance across diverse industries including life sciences and healthcare, where these issues are of paramount importance. With his leadership, we will build on a strong foundation and deliver a world class trust experience to our customers."
"ALLOY's data-centric solution is a disruptive approach to integration and data management that provides better security, compliance and overall performance to the customer," Vang said. "I am pleased to be on board with this groundbreaking platform and to help advance Liaison's commitment to data integrity, customer trust and value."
Vang will work directly with Liaison's customers to support their stringent security and regulatory compliance needs. This includes meeting industry standards for the security and privacy of health information, for securely handling branded credit card payments and for measuring the control of financial information for service organizations.
Vang will establish a formal cloud trust program that will aid customers in efficiently satisfying regulatory demands by maintaining instant access to compliance assurance documentation. Vang will also oversee proactive trust-based communication with customers, maintain and publish Liaison's security and trust policies and create a new customer-facing dashboard for real-time availability, performance and uptime monitoring.
Vang offers extensive experience in overseeing compliance, risk management and strategic security initiatives for major organizations in life sciences, healthcare and other industries. Before joining Liaison, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Covance, a global leader in drug development. He continued in this role through the company's acquisition by Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, also a global leader specializing in both drug development and healthcare diagnostics.
Vang's previous experiences include executive roles in security and compliance at Equifax, KPMG, Internet Security Systems and Automated Logic Corporation. He is a member of the CISO Executive Network with certification in Risk & Information Systems Control.
