PITTSBURGH, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Much like other kids his age, 11-year-old Kyle Dempsey of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania loves to swing and play. However, due to his medical condition, Kyle could be seriously injured if he fell on the playground, and having a safe environment in which to play is crucial. Pittsburgh-based Liberty Tire Recycling, the premier provider of tire recycling services in the United States, recently worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia to grant Kyle his wish – his very own swing set.

"When we heard about Kyle's wish, we wanted to make his dream a reality, so we donated Pinnacle Rubber Mulch to be used as the safety surfacing for his swing set," said Jeffery Kendall, CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling. "We are so pleased that the combined efforts of Liberty Tire Recycling and the Make-A-Wish Foundation gave a wonderful boy the opportunity to laugh and play in his own backyard, on his own swing set."
Manufactured by Liberty Tire Recycling, Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is made from recycled scrap tires. The rubber mulch is superior to its wood counterpart as a playground surface. In fact, a six-inch layer of Pinnacle Rubber Mulch will cushion a child's fall from as high as 16 feet. Moreover, because of its durability over time, the rubber mulch is expected to remain bright and plush for as long as 10 years.
"We're very grateful for companies like Liberty Tire Recycling," said Judith Stone, president and CEO, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia. "Because of their generosity, Kyle can swing, slide, and climb knowing that he'll be safe."
