CANTON, Mass., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking to get to know someone better?  Whether it's a new college roommate, coworker or significant other, the flavor they select at Baskin-Robbins may provide clues about their personality.  Today Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, launched a personality quiz on Facebook for ice cream enthusiasts designed to determine which ice cream flavor best matches their personality.

Dr. Alan Hirsch, a nationally recognized smell and taste expert and founder of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, IL, worked with Baskin-Robbins to reveal what flavor choices suggest about someone's personality.  The matches between flavor and personality were made based on ingredient preferences in different ice cream flavors.

The personality quiz can be found on the Baskin-Robbins Facebook page, and is based on eight distinct personality types: laid back/relaxed, adventurous/active, shy/introverted, analytical/cautious, outgoing/extroverted, detail-oriented, outspoken and an idealist.  Baskin-Robbins Facebook Fans are encouraged to take the quiz, share it with their Facebook friends and invite others to learn which Baskin-Robbins flavor matches their personality.  Ice cream lovers may be surprised at which flavor matches their personalities - perhaps it's a new flavor they have never tried.
