LifeCare Hospitals Appoints Frank Battafarano Interim COO

PLANO, Texas, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeCare Holdings LLC, which operates LifeCare Hospitals, a leading long term acute care hospital (LTACH) system specializing in the treatment and recovery of medically complex patients, has named industry veteran Frank J. Battafarano as interim chief operating officer.

A highly accomplished executive with more than 30 years of leadership in the long term and post acute care sectors, Battafarano held several positions with Kindred Healthcare, Inc., including chief operating officer, executive vice president and president of the hospital division for the Louisville, Kentucky-based company.  Battafarano successfully led Kindred's operations through a period of significant regulatory change, guided the development of Kindred's cluster market and network development activities, oversaw advancement of the company's marketing activities and implemented an enterprise-wide managed care strategy.
