RESTON, Va., Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LightSquared™, which is building a nationwide wireless broadband network that will drive consumer choice and industry innovation, has achieved an important milestone in the development of its network: the selection of a renowned systems integrator and three leading software solution providers to build and deploy its wholesale platform. This wholesale platform will enable LightSquared's partners to provide critical customer management services to their end-users.
LightSquared has selected Wipro Technologies (WIT), a global leader in IT services and consulting, as its technology partner for systems integration and managed services.
Following an extensive evaluation process, LightSquared, in cooperation with Wipro, selected three key components for its platform:
- Provisioning and Activation, provided by Evolving Systems (EVOL), which enables LightSquared's partners to activate and provision end-users on the network.
- Real-Time Usage and Credit Management, provided by Openet, which enables LightSquared's partners to manage their own customers' network usage and credit in real time.
- Rating and Billing, provided by Convergys (CVG), which enables LightSquared to invoice its partners at a wholesale level based on aggregate usage.
