Lightstone Announces Topping Out of Moxy East Village

NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- National real estate investor and developer Lightstone announced today the topping out of construction at the company's Moxy hotel in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. The 286-key hotel is located at 112-120 East 11^th Street and is the third of four Moxy hotels that Lightstone is developing in New York City in partnership with Marriott. Moxy East Village is set to open in the fall of 2019.

Located just blocks from Union Square and NYU and directly across from Webster Hall, Moxy East Village reflects its vibrant, ever-transforming neighborhood. Stonehill Taylor envisioned the property’s architectural design, while the hotel’s interior design architect Rockwell Group created a design concept based on urban archeology and references the city’s past, present and future to design the hotel’s lobby, amenities, and guestrooms. Conceived as a vertical timeline, each floor reveals a different layer in Lower Manhattan’s history, creating a sense of discovery for guests.

Standing 13 stories tall, the stylish and affordable Moxy East Village will feature 286 cleverly-designed bedrooms, technology-savvy amenities, community based cultural and fitness programming, a well-equipped 24/7 gym, and co-working spaces. The hotel will include four new eating and drinking establishments for guests and locals, including a cellar level restaurant and lounge, a lobby bar and lounge area, an elevated twist on a traditional Grab & Go, and an outdoor rooftop amenity.

Moxy East Village adds to Lightstone's growing hotel development portfolio, which includes 1,500 Moxy hotel rooms in New York City, including the brand's 612-room flagship U.S. property in Times Square that opened in fall of 2017 and Moxy Chelsea, which will open this fall. The company is developing seven Moxy properties across the nation, with additional locations in South Beach, Miami, downtown Los Angeles and West Hollywood.
