Lincoln Financial Group Launches Variable Universal Life Product Combining Lifetime Protection With Upside Potential

RADNOR, Pa., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC) today announced its next generation of Lincoln VUL^ONE (2012), a variable universal life insurance product. Issued by The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, Fort Wayne, IN, Lincoln VUL^ONE can provide a guaranteed lifetime death benefit that can help financially protect clients' loved ones, along with the potential to build market-driven cash values, which can serve as a source of supplemental income.

Lincoln VUL^ONE 2012 features a competitive pricing structure for various premium scenarios, including those in which premiums are paid in five years or less.

Lincoln VUL^ONE is the first Lincoln product available with the new Lincoln LifeEnhance^SM Accelerated Benefits Rider (ABR). Available at issue for an additional cost to qualified purchasers, the Lincoln LifeEnhance^SM ABR is designed to provide access to tax-advantaged funds in the event of an unexpected permanent chronic or terminal illness. In cases of permanent chronic illness, clients can access up to 100 percent of the gross death benefit at the time of claim through payments. For terminal illness, policy holders can access 50 percent of the death benefit up to a maximum of $250,000.

Lincoln VUL^ONE also offers the potential to enhance benefits based on positive market performance. If the policy cash value reaches a pre-determined threshold, clients can choose to stop paying premium early, and/or access their excess policy cash value growth for income, without impacting the guaranteed death benefit.
