Liquid Church To Pack One Million Holiday Meals For Families Devastated By Hurricane Maria In Puerto Rico

4,000 Volunteers Will Serve Across 7 New Jersey Locations on December 8th & 9th As Part of Christmas Outreach Initiative

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Nov. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to serve the hungry and hurting in Hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, Liquid Church, one of New Jersey's fastest-growing Christian churches, has announced it will pack and ship a record-breaking one million holiday meals in a single weekend during the largest Christmas Outreach in its history.

"Months after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, thousands of people are still without food, water, power, and adequate shelter. The scope of the disaster is heartbreaking for families on the island, as well as their loved ones right here in New Jersey - many of whom are a part of Liquid Church," said Tim Lucas, lead pastor and founder of Liquid Church. "The damage left in the wake of this storm broke our hearts and fueled us to come alongside our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico, and that's why we set such an ambitious goal for our 2017 Christmas Outreach."

On December 8th and 9th, 4,000 volunteers will gather across 7 locations, working to meet the goal of one million meals. Designed as a family event, children and parents will serve alongside each other at the Christmas Outreach, working in an "assembly line fashion" in order to pack thousands of meals in short order.

Liquid Church's provision of one million meals will double the meal-packing achievement from last year, when 500,000 meals were packed in one day.

Liquid Church's 7 Christmas Outreach locations include Nutley in Essex County, Jersey City in Hudson County, Parsippany in Morris County, Somerset in Somerset County, and Garwood and Mountainside in Union County.
