LMU Appoints Five New Members to Board of Trustees

LOS ANGELES, June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Five new members have been named to Loyola Marymount University's Board of Trustees, extending further the board's leadership expertise.

The new trustees are: D. Scott Hendrickson, S.J., a professor at Loyola University Chicago; real estate investor Michael J. Mandelbaum; Steve Mosko, former head of Sony Pictures Television; Indonesian business leader Handojo S. Muljadi; and UPS executive Rosemary Turner. The trustees were elected to three-year terms, beginning on June 1, 2017.

D. Scott Hendrickson, S.J., is an assistant professor of Spanish and director of the graduate program at Loyola University Chicago. His research interests include Spanish history, including religious art and literature of early modern Spain; Jesuit spiritual and devotional texts; and the writings of Miguel de Cervantes.

He joined the faculty of Loyola University Chicago in 2013, where he has served as a Jesuit chaplain in the university's San Francisco Hall. He is a trustee of Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., and St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. Hendrickson is a member of the Association of Hispanists of Great Britain and Ireland, the Modern Language Association, the Cervantes Society of America, and the Renaissance Society of America.

Hendrickson earned a D.Phil. in Spanish literature from Oxford University, an M.A. in Hispanic studies from New York University, an M.A. in Spanish literature from Bowling Green State University, and a B.A. in American Studies from St. Louis University.

Michael Mandelbaum is a partner in Mandelbaum & Mandelbaum, a family-owned legal and real estate firm based in West Orange, N.J. His father, David Mandelbaum, is an ownership partner of the Minnesota Vikings.

Mandelbaum is an honorary trustee of Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, N.J. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law and a B.A. from Princeton University. He is the parent of a 2017 LMU graduate.

Steve Mosko, as chairman and president of Sony Pictures Television, oversaw worldwide television operations, and was responsible for global distribution of feature film and television content. He also directed digital networks and advertiser sales. Under his leadership, SPT programming received the entertainment industry's top honors, including the 2013 and 2014 Emmy for Best Drama Series for the series "Breaking Bad."

Mosko, a native of Baltimore, earned a B.A. in communications from the University of Delaware. He was named executive of the year by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors in 2014, and was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2011, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Chapman University and in 1995, Mosko's alma mater recognized his accomplishments with their Presidential Achievement Award.

Mosko serves on the Los Angeles Board of Governors for the Paley Center for Media; the executive board for the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television; and the executive committee for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He served on LMU's Board of Trustees from 2001-08 and was the university's graduate commencement speaker in 2016.

Handojo Selamet Muljadi is the majority owner and the Chief Executive Officer of the Tempo Scan Group, a group of companies with its head office in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Tempo Scan Group manufactures, markets, and distributes pharmaceuticals, consumer and cosmetic products across the globe. He is a graduate of New York University.

The Tempo Scan Group also oversees an extensive charitable program, which among other interests provides for surgery for impoverished Indonesian children who suffer from congenital anomalies, such as heart disease and cleft palate. Since its inception in 2007, the program has helped approximately 1,500 children across Indonesia.

Muljadi and his wife reside in Jakarta and have three sons, two of whom are undergraduates at LMU.

Rosemary Turner, a 1984 graduate of LMU, is president of the Northern California District for United Parcel Service, ensuring that UPS provides the logistical capabilities to support new business in Northern and Central California, as well as Northern Nevada. Her territory includes the metro areas of Bakersfield, Oakland, Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Barbara.

Turner is president of LMU's African American Alumni Association, and a former member of the university's boards of Regents (2005-06) and Trustees (2006-15). She serves on several boards for community, nonprofit, and government agencies, including the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco's Board of Directors. She is a founding member of the Comcast Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
