LMU School of Film and Television presents a new season of The Hollywood Masters

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 , 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television has announced the second installment of The Hollywood Masters, which kicks off on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, with director Michael Mann (Last of the Mohicans, Heat, The Insider). The interview series was launched in February 2014 and welcomed such guests as Alfonso Cuarón, David O. Russell, Judd Apatow and Alan Horn to the LMU campus for in-depth interviews by award-winning journalist and SFTV Cosgrove Family Distinguished Visiting Artist Stephen Galloway.

The second season will examine the careers of such luminaries as James L. Brooks (director, Broadcast News; executive producer, The Simpsons), Charles Roven (producer, The Dark Knight, American Hustle), Billy Bob Thornton (actor-writer, Sling Blade, Monster's Ball), Hans Zimmer (composer, The Dark Knight, 12 Years a Slave), The Farrelly Brothers (directors, Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary) and Hilary Swank (actress, Boys Don't Cry, Million Dollar Baby).

The Cosgrove Family Distinguished Visiting Artist Endowment was established to support a distinguished artist whose work will create, teach, inspire and connect SFTV to the creative filmmaking community. Past Cosgrove artists include Deepa Mehta, Paula Wagner and Richard Taylor.

Hollywood Masters will be taped before a live student audience; the series will be shown on The Hollywood Reporter's website and is open to LMU students only. The series complements THR's signature Oscar Roundtables.
