LAKELAND, Fla., July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New Beginnings High School (NBHS), an accredited community-based charter school serving all Polk County, is hosting the 2nd Annual SUMMER PALOOZA. This event is one way that NBHS gives back to the community they work, live and serve in.
The entire community is invited to Simpson Park (1725 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Lakeland) on July 29th from 8am-1pm to enjoy the groceries, the giveaways and learn about all that NBHS has to offer our youth. The event served 1,000 people last year and 1,500 people are expected to attend this year!
With school beginning soon, many organizations are providing school supplies as a way of supporting the community. NBHS has noticed the additional need for food and hygiene supplies. This event has been established to fill such basic necessities. Many major business entities in the community understand that purpose and have invested in the event since its inception. Some of these premiere sponsors include Publix Foundation, Rooms To Go, the City of Lakeland, Lanier Upshaw, Straughn & Turner, and Fifth Third Bank. They have also gathered more than 46 additional community supporters that will be on hand with giveaways and promotional fun. Some of these supporters/sponsors include Lakeland Magic, City of Lakeland Community Dev., Heartland for Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Lakeland Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Buggy, Lakeland Police Dept., United Way, Early Learning Coalition, Mulling Insurance, Polk Education Foundation, Badcock Home Furniture, Sean Giles and many more.
Everyone will receive free groceries such as canned goods, breads and pastries, hams, chickens, beef, breakfast cereals, pasta, and more in order to provide several wholesome and nutritious meals for their family.
In addition, everyone will also receive hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioners, tooth paste, tooth brushes, soaps, cleansers and more.
Most importantly, there will be opportunities to learn more about New Beginnings High School and the great service they provide to youth through conversation and informational workshops. Come meet the staff, enjoy a hot meal, receive groceries and hygiene products for your family and hear about how NBHS is changing the lives of students in Polk County.
New Beginnings High School is an accredited community-based Charter School serving students ages 15-24 seeking options for educational goals with campuses located in Winter Haven, Lakeland, and Fort Meade serving all of Polk County, Florida.
