Local Phusion Projects Employees Volunteer With Community FoodBank of New Jersey
CHICAGO, May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A team of local employees from Phusion Projects, LLC, manufacturer of Four Loko, volunteered their time in April at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch, helping to separate items such as books, clothes, household items and sporting equipment, and cleaning and preparing basketballs and footballs for sale. The company also made a $5,000 donation to the organization.
"Seeing the needs of the people that come in to shop, along with the enthusiasm of the volunteers, really makes you take pause and realize that although we all came away feeling good about what we did that day, volunteering time is only the tip of the iceberg," said Joey Rivelli, New Jersey area manager, Phusion Projects. "There is a lot more work to be done and a lot more people that need help out there."
Phusion Projects is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where company employees live and work, and as such, partners with food banks around the country to combat local hunger. This is the second food bank that this team of employees volunteered with in April, and employees from all over the country will continue to visit at least one food bank per month for the remainder of the year, in select communities.
"Phusion Projects' generous contribution of time and money assisted us in our efforts to distribute food to over 250 partner agency charities in several area counties," said Margie Barham, executive director, Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch. "The FoodBank has seen a significant increase in community need over the past few years, distributing more than 7.1 million pounds of food in 2010. Phusion Projects' contribution to the organization goes a long way in helping others."
To initiate even more community involvement, Phusion Projects also offers an employee matching program for contributions to non-profit organizations or institutions and encourages employees to get involved at the local level.
