Local Retailer Donates to Harvey Relief; Moves on to Support Texas Tech University Fallen Police Officer
LUBBOCK, Texas, Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- This week, Red Raider Outfitter announced that on behalf of its Texas Tech fans and the company's student staff, the brand has raised over $35,000 in donations for South Texas Hurricane Relief. A donation of $10,000 was made to Breedlove, an innovative Humanitarian relief operation that focuses on food processing nutritious meals. Also, included in the donation, was $21,000 to the Salvation Army and over $4,000 in food and supplies. The source of Red Raider Outfitter's ability to provide these donations was through its 'Wreck Harvey' T-shirt campaign.
Now, with the completion of the Harvey Project, Red Raider Outfitter and its loyal fan base turn its attention to setting a goal of raising $100,000 for the family of the fallen police officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty Oct. 9 on the Texas Tech Campus. Today, the 42-year-old storied campus retailer, released its Homecoming game day shirt for the Iowa State matchup Oct. 21 at Jones AT&T stadium. This shirt is dedicated to the Law Enforcement team that wears blue every day of the year. The shirt features the historic Will Rogers statue wrapped in black and blue streamers by The Saddle Tramps, a student organization. The shirt also features the school's slogan "Wreck 'Em" combined with the word BLUE instead of the traditional "TECH" to honor our officers. "These colors don't run" also appears on the shirt, as it mixes both blue, red and black color ways. Working side by side with the Texas Tech University Licensing department, Red Raider Outfitter has been able to link community causes with Texas Tech athletics, students, alumni, and fans.
