NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Logicalis US, an international IT solutions and managed services provider (www.us.logicalis.com), today announced an agreement with IO, a global leader in software-defined data centers, to build a Logicalis data center presence in IO's Dayton, Ohio, data center operations facility.
Logicalis already had existing deployments in the IO Phoenix and IO New Jersey data centers, extending the cost, agility, security and efficiency benefits of the IO Intelligent Control™ platform to Logicalis' clients on both the east and west coasts. Today's announcement expands these offerings with additional compute resources strategically located in the central United States, an important expansion for Logicalis' clients.
The way enterprise organizations are purchasing technology is undergoing a dramatic change today, with many moving toward an on-demand model for fulfilling their information technology needs. As a result, providers of high-end computing services must prepare for the continued growth of the as-a-service market and build appropriate infrastructure to meet the demands of their clients, something Logicalis is doing by creating additional compute resources within the strategically located, world-class and highly certified IO data center facility.
"Logicalis has had a relationship with IO for a number of years, and during that time we have developed a wealth of trust in IO's people as well as great confidence in IO's technology," says Kevin Gruneisen, Senior Director, Data Center Solutions, Logicalis US. "Our customers who have experienced the IO differences have asked us to expand our footprint to a central location with IO. Today's announcement marks that expansion of the relationship and demonstrates Logicalis' commitment to bringing its cloud and data center customers the best, most extensive service available anywhere in the industry."
The agreement with IO will expand the services available to Logicalis' dedicated cloud customers and offers a new failover location to customers served by the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud East and West operations. In the coming months, the Logicalis On-Demand Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), a self-managed, multi-tenant public cloud infrastructure, will also be housed in the IO facility. The new central location with an on-site Logicalis presence completes Logicalis' nationwide data center strategy, allowing Logicalis to expand its data center and cloud services, including private cloud and data center as a service (DCaaS).
"IO and Logicalis have achieved great results together in Phoenix and Edison," says Peter McNamara, Executive Leader, Global Sales and Customer Operations, IO, "and we look forward to replicating those results in Dayton, offering Logicalis' clients in this central U.S. location the reduced energy consumption, guaranteed uptime, and cost benefits that come from an as-a-service IT business model. Companies like Logicalis are visionaries, having recognized early on that the way customers buy and use technology is changing. Logicalis' continued endorsement of the IO Intelligent Control platform is appreciated both by IO, and ultimately by Logicalis' customers who can expand their infrastructure simply, securely, and cost effectively."
