Long Ellis Joins Peel as New Head of U.S. Advertising Sales

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Peel, the company dedicated to reinventing the remote control and connected living room experience, today announced Long Ellis as the new head of U.S. advertising sales. He will provide global leadership for Peel's advertising sales team; further develop marketing opportunities as well as work on strategic sales, pricing, planning and new client development.

"Also, his breadth of executive level experience in advertising sales and excellent track record for building sales teams will benefit Peel as we grow." 

Ellis comes to Peel from Flurry, Inc. where he was the general manager and vice president of direct media, responsible for selling Flurry's value proposition to national advertisers and agencies, as well as developing publisher relationships with TV networks, studios and cable providers. Prior to Flurry, Ellis was the head of sales and TV for Google and the executive vice president of advertising sales at MTV Networks.

At Google, Ellis increased revenue from $12 million to over $100 million within two years, while also building and managing a team of 30 sales people based across the United States. At MTV Networks, he was directly responsible for over 900 people and $3 billion in advertising revenue. MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Spike, Nick at Night and Nickelodeon Networks all fell under this umbrella during his time there.

Ellis holds a MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia University as well as a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Williams College.
