Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Fleet Equipment Heads to Public Auction September 4

LADWP backhoes, wheel loaders, motor graders, bucket trucks, dump trucks and utility vehicles among government fleet assets being sold at Bar None Auction in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A substantial package of heavy equipment, commercial trucks and fleet vehicles from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will be offered to the public Friday, September 4, as part of Bar None Auction's upcoming government surplus and public consignment auction in Fontana, California.

The LADWP fleet package includes a wide range of equipment used in municipal and utility operations, including Caterpillar backhoes, wheel loaders, motor graders, mechanics trucks, dump trucks, utility trucks, bucket trucks, water trucks, step vans and fleet vehicles.

All government equipment will be sold to the highest bidder through Bar None Auction's online auction platform. The auction is open to the public, and buyers do not need to be licensed dealers to participate.

The sale provides contractors, equipment operators, fleet managers, municipalities and individual buyers an opportunity to purchase used government fleet equipment directly through public auction.

Public Preview September 2–3

Prospective bidders will have an opportunity to inspect the equipment in person before the auction. Public preview will be held Wednesday, September 2, and Thursday, September 3, at Bar None Auction's Fontana facility. Buyers can inspect individual lots before deciding which equipment they want to bid on during the September 4 auction.

Additional Government Surplus Equipment Included

The LADWP fleet package is part of a large selection of government and utility equipment scheduled for the September 4 sale.

Additional equipment and vehicles will include consignments from the California Department of Transportation, California Department of General Services, San Diego Gas & Electric, County of San Bernardino, cities of Bakersfield, Lompoc, Long Beach, Pico Rivera, Simi Valley and Torrance, and the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority.

The combination of LADWP equipment, additional government surplus assets and public consignment inventory is expected to create a large and diverse selection of heavy equipment, commercial trucks, utility vehicles and fleet assets.
