Los Angeles Jewish Home To Expand To Westside With New Senior Care Community And In-home Services

The Gonda Healthy Aging Westside Campus and additional facilities will serve more than 500 Westside seniors with a full range of active living, healthcare and in-home services

RESEDA, Calif., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Jewish Home today announced plans to develop a senior care community in The Village at Playa Vista and the surrounding areas that will serve the residential, healthcare and in-home needs of upwards of 600 seniors on the Westside of Los Angeles. This marks the first time in its 100 year history that Jewish Home will have a physical presence on the Westside.

The Gonda Healthy Aging Westside Campus – made possible through the generosity of the Leslie and Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Foundation -- will form the hub of an extensive network of Westside Jewish Home facilities and services.  With an 18-month wait list of about 400 -- half of which live on the Westside -- the Gonda Campus furthers the Jewish Home's mission of serving as many seniors as possible.

The Gonda Campus will feature The Brandman Building, a gift of The Saul Brandman Foundation, and will include a 176-unit continuing care retirement community for independent seniors.  In addition, the campus will provide 24 units for assisted living and memory care. 

Located nearby the Gonda Campus will be a Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC) a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) site that will care for an additional 240 seniors.  Plans also call for a 60-bed skilled nursing facility to be located in the same vicinity.
