Loyola Marymount University Announces Early Decision Deadlines for Fall 2027 Applicants

Early Decision I applications are due Nov. 1, 2026 and Early Decision II applications are due Jan. 8, 2027, offering priority consideration and additional enrollment benefits.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Loyola Marymount University is offering two early decision application options for students applying for fall 2027 admission: Early Decision I (deadline: Nov. 1, 2026) and Early Decision II (deadline: Jan. 8, 2027).

Early Decision is a binding admission program for prospective high school students who have determined that LMU is their first choice.

"Students choose LMU because they are drawn to our vibrant Los Angeles setting, our academic excellence, and the sense of belonging they feel here," said Thomas Gutto, associate vice provost for undergraduate enrollment. "Early Decision gives those students the opportunity to take advantage of benefits that help them start their LMU journey with confidence."

The Early Decision I and Early Decision II plans reflect a commitment between the applicant and the university; students admitted through early-decision plans are committed to enroll at LMU and withdraw applications to other schools, and in turn are given preferential consideration, are notified of admission before "regular decision" applicants, and are eligible for additional benefits.

LMU offers two Early Decision options for fall 2027 admission:

• Early Decision I (applications are due Nov. 1, 2026), for students who know early in their senior year that LMU is their first-choice university. Students admitted through the pathway receive:
  • An additional $20,000 LMU scholarship over four years, on top of any other LMU scholarships or grants
  • Priority housing selection
  • Priority registration for your first term
  • Priority consideration for programs with limited space

• Early Decision II (applications are due Jan. 8, 2027), offering students a later opportunity to choose LMU as their first-choice university. ED II applicants receive:
  • Preferential admission consideration
  • Earlier admission decision

Early Decision I applicants seeking financial aid must submit the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application by Nov. 1. The corresponding deadline for Early Decision II applicants is Jan. 10.

Prospective students and their families are encouraged to visit LMU's Early Decision website hub for deadlines, application options, and financial aid information.

Prospective LMU students can also apply to LMU with a nonbinding "Early Action" application, which is due Nov. 1. Or, they can apply by the Jan. 15, 2027, regular decision deadline.
