LPL Financial Serves Up Largest Employee Volunteer Effort in Company History

BOSTON, CHARLOTTE, N.C. and SAN DIEGO, June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LPL Financial LLC, the nation's largest independent broker-dealer* and a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Financial Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LPLA), today announced the successful results of its "Serve Days" volunteer project held during the month of May, which enabled employees to join together to make a positive difference in their local communities.  Employee volunteers served others through a variety of efforts in the firm's home office cities of Boston, Charlotte, Cleveland, and San Diego, including: teaching financial literacy to students, helping women prepare for a new career, landscaping homes in low income neighborhoods, and providing nutritious meals to veterans.

Members of LPL Financial's Employee Volunteer Corps (EVC) and employee champions served as project leaders to help make Serve Days the largest volunteer effort in the history of LPL Financial.  The company hosted 23 projects throughout May, bringing together a record total of 337 volunteers.

Robert Moore, president and COO of LPL Financial, volunteered alongside employees and their family members in San Diego.  Mr. Moore said, "It was great to see LPL Financial volunteers giving back and working together to make an impact in our community.  The camaraderie and spirit shared at the event was a reminder of how good it feels to come together to make a difference in the lives of others."

LPL Financial employees are encouraged to volunteer and to serve others in their local communities.  The company began its "Lift People Locally" employee volunteer program during April's National Volunteer Month, and recently launched an Employee Volunteer Center web portal to enable employees to sign up for volunteer projects online.  To further support the valuable efforts of its employees, LPL Financial has also established a new Volunteer Time Off program, which provides paid time off for employees who volunteer for charitable organizations in their local communities.
