REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LucidWorks, the company transforming the way people access information, today announced that Grant Ingersoll, CTO and co-founder of LucidWorks, has been named to the board of directors. The company also announced that Will Hayes, previously head of Splunk business development, has joined LucidWorks as chief product and marketing officer. The changes will enable LucidWorks to continue its rapid worldwide growth in response to surging demand for highly accurate, scalable and cost-effective search applications. The moves will also help LucidWorks become an even stronger partner and technology resource for the Lucene/Solr developer community, the largest open source enterprise search community in the world.
Hayes joins LucidWorks as chief product and marketing officer to help stoke the product innovation engine, build a world-class partner program, and meet rampant demand for LucidWorks search and big data solutions. Hayes has 15 years of product, marketing and business development experience. He created and led the company's global partner program, building the ecosystem to more than 50 consultants, developers, resellers, system integrators, service providers and technology partners. Earlier in his career, Hayes served as a software engineer at Genentech, where he built solutions that supported the sales and drug development teams in their field activities.
As a member of the board of directors, Ingersoll, CTO and co-founder of LucidWorks, will reinforce his involvement in shaping the company's market strategy and direction. The move underscores his commitment to bringing advanced product solutions and innovations to customers. Since co-founding LucidWorks, Ingersoll has stood out as a key contributor to the company's success, guiding the firm's technological advancements and helping to position LucidWorks in the open source enterprise search and big data industries. He has been an active leader in the field of search technology for more than a decade, serving as a committer on the Apache Lucene Java and Solr projects, the co-founder of the Mahout Project, and the chairman of the Apache Lucene Project Management committee.
"Companies of all sizes are turning to the Apache Lucene/Solr project because they believe that uncovering the insights hidden in their data will help them become a more competitive company," said Paul Doscher, CEO, LucidWorks.
