Lumanella Spirited Candlescapes Premier at The New York International Gift Fair
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Eleanor Roosevelt's famous quote, "It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness" inspires Lumanella, the designer line of candleholders introduced by award-winning Albuquerque architect Tony Anella. Tony believes it is always better – and now a lot more fun – to light some candles and place them in an inspired holder. "Candles whisper," Tony says, "Their soft light brings peace to their surroundings – something a stressful world can never get enough of."
Blending environmentally sensitive materials with a whimsical and fashion forward design aesthetic, Tony Anella and his design team have literally lit up the notion of candleholders, creating "candlescapes" that turn even everyday events into celebratory occasions.
Tony believes a flickering flame is a call to gather friends and family together, especially in our digital age when so much communicating is done electronically. His collection is designed to bring people closer, and give them a reason to make even the simplest dinner or gathering a festive time.
Using minimal resources and sustainable, environmentally sensitive materials and methods, the goal of Lumanella is to "build a company that contributes to the health of the planet." This ecologic ethic has also gone into the packaging which lays flat, allowing shipping to be simpler, easier and less costly on resources and the environment."
Tony Anella starts his designs the old fashioned pen to paper way. They are then turned into a 3-D computer model by Brian Panasiti, a partner at Lumanella, and then cut out of stainless steel, bringing them to life right before your eyes. According to Brian, "It's amazing how warm cold steel can be when you have fun with it, and give it purpose and life". One look at their smile inducing designs, and this mission becomes clear.
For so long, candleholder designs have been repetitive and standard, so it's fun and refreshing to see what Lumanella has brought to the table. Tony and the team are heading to New York for the New York International Gift Fair August 18-22 at the Jacob Javits Center. It's the first time buyers will get a chance to see the exciting new line, and it is sure to be a bright spot at the New York Gift Fair.
