Lung Cancer Alliance Praises National Leadership for Their Continued Support for a Call to Action on Lung Cancer
REAFFIRM IMPORTANCE OF LUNG CANCER MORTALITY REDUCTION ACT
WASHINGTON, May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) praised national leaders for their continued and steadfast support for LCA's call to action for a more coordinated and comprehensive public health strategy to address the nation's most lethal cancer.
The network, which formed last Congress in support of the Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act, renewed its call to action shortly after the reintroduction of the bi-cameral bi-partisan landmark legislation in the 112th Congress. The Senate sponsors include Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), John Kerry (D-MA) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA). The House of Representatives sponsors include Donna Christensen (Del-VI) and Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ). The bill is numbered S. 752 and H.R. 1352 respectively.

The Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act of 2011, declares lung cancer a national public health priority and requires a coordinated and comprehensive federal response to address all aspects of the lethal disease.
